The hotel, which is owned by the Trump Organization, is the first luxury residential property owned by Trump.
It sits on a property owned in part by Trump’s son-in-law and his daughter Ivanka Trump, a key member of his transition team, according to an account in The Washington Post.
The account also says the Trump family also owns the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., which was the site of a January protest against the president.
The hotel and Trump Tower are part of a large development known as the Old Post Office.
Trump has been criticized for his use of his own private properties and businesses, including hotels, to hide his finances, and his use in the Trump Foundation to give millions to charity.
A New York Times report said the foundation’s chairman, Peter Thiel, was the person who gave Trump a $250,000 check for his foundation to help build a hotel.
Trump’s lawyers did not respond to a request for comment.
The Trump Organization did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for clarification on whether the hotel was owned by him.
Trump and his family also own a golf course in Doral, Florida.
Trump said during his 2016 presidential campaign that he planned to donate the course to charity, but a spokesperson for the president denied the assertion.
Trump told reporters in Dental, Florida, last year that the course was not a part of the president’s plans.
Trump owns several other properties in the United States and abroad, including the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, and Trump International Golf Links in Scotland, the latter of which is being built on land formerly occupied by the Scottish Highlands National Park.
Trump also owns two golf courses in Australia and one in New Zealand, which are both listed as part of his charity golf programs.
