– In what’s being touted as the next big step for the Charlotte Hornets, the Charlotte Sports and Entertainment Group has announced that the team will relocate from the historic Biltmore Estate in downtown Atlanta to the Charlotte Coliseum, the team’s current home, for the 2017-18 season.
The Hornets will have a new home and will play their home games in the historic building on the banks of the Chattahoochee River.
The Charlotte Coliseum will be home to the Carolina Panthers for the first time since the team relocated to Charlotte in 2014, and will be a new arena for the NBA franchise.
The new Charlotte arena will host basketball games from the start of the 2018-19 season, but will not be the only venue for the Hornets.
The team has been operating out of the Biltmont Estate since it opened in 2008.
It has a large, historic exterior that includes a replica of the old Biltmor Estate in the form of a dome.
The arena will house a large outdoor basketball court, a practice facility and locker room.
The team’s ownership group also announced plans to move the team from the old Coliseum complex to the new Biltmere, which is the teams new home.
